Wolfgang Lutz

Wolfgang Lutz is Founding Director of the Wittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global Human Capital, a collaboration between IIASA, the Austrian Academy of Sciences, and the University of Vienna. He is a Professor at the University of Vienna's Department of Demography and Senior Advisor for IIASA's Population and Just Societies Program, after directing its World Population Program from 1994–2020.

His research integrates multidimensional demography, focusing on interactions between population aging, education, and labor force dynamics.
