Wolfgang Bauer

Dr. Wolfgang Bauer is a Research Group Leader in Deep Geothermal Energy at the GeoZentrum Nordbayern, affiliated with Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen. He currently serves as a Research Associate in the Department of Geology.

Dr. Bauer's research focuses on deep geothermal and hydrocarbon exploration, with specific emphasis on fractured reservoir analysis, fault zone permeability, drilling target definition, and exploration risk mitigation. He combines geological and geophysical methods to optimize resource discovery.

His recent publications highlight advancements in fractured reservoir characterization, seismic analysis for fault detection, and geothermal project development. Dr. Bauer has contributed extensively to understanding the interplay between structural geology and geothermal energy extraction.
