Dr. Wojciech Pietruszka is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Classical Philology and Ancient Culture, University of Wrocław, within the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences. His research focuses on Ancient Egypt, Alexander the Great, Greek Epigraphy, and Hieroglyphs.
His scholarly work explores the intersection of Hellenistic and Roman influence in Egypt, particularly through epigraphic and numismatic studies. He has co-organized international conferences such as Greeks, Romans and their Neighbours and Alexander the Great and Egypt, and contributed to edited volumes on Alexander’s legacy and historiography.
Key publications include studies on the epigraphic curve in Alexandria, Persian-period coinage, and the reception of Alexander the Great across Roman, Byzantine, and Early Modern Egypt. Awards include the Rector’s Best Student Award (2004) and multiple Lanckoronski Foundation Scholarships.
