Dr. Wladislaw Michailow is a Junior Research Fellow at Trinity College and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge. His research focuses on terahertz science, quantum transport in low-dimensional systems, and semiconductor device engineering. He holds a PhD in Physics from Cambridge, following a Master’s at TU Munich and a Bachelor’s at the University of Augsburg.

His work bridges classical and quantum physics, developing terahertz detectors/modulators and exploring novel materials like graphene and MoS₂. He leads the TeraCom consortium for high-speed terahertz communications and collaborates with the Semiconductor Physics Group. Notable awards include the Rudolf Diesel Medal and George and Lillian Schiff Studentship.
Supervises 3 PhD students and 2 MRes students. Key research themes: terahertz photonics, quantum transport, and metamaterials. Active in EPSRC-funded projects and has over 30 publications. His lab focuses on low-temperature physics and device prototyping.
