Witold Janeczek

Witold Janeczek (born August 22, 1948, in Dzierżoniów) is a Polish veterinarian and professor specializing in veterinary prophylaxis and zoohygiene. He has been associated with the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences since 1994, where he served as Associate Professor and later received his professor title in 1999. His career spans roles as Vice-Dean (1999–2005) and Dean (2005–2008) of the Faculty of Biology and Animal Science, alongside memberships in the Senate Committee for Scientific Research and the Rector's Committee for Academic Teachers' Salaries.

• Doctorate: 1979, Wrocław Agricultural University (thesis: Diagnostic value of selected biochemical indicators for perinatal metaphylaxis in cows)
• Habilitation: 1989, Faculty of Animal Science (dissertation: The development of water and electrolyte balance in calves kept without access to water from the first day of life)

His research focuses on environmental impacts on farm animal health and production, thermoregulation, subclinical metabolic disorders in dairy cattle, and stress-induced immune responses in calves. He has authored 120 scientific publications and a textbook on veterinary prophylaxis, presenting findings at international conferences in Hanover, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Saint Petersburg, Lviv, and Maastricht.

Janeczek completed a long-term internship at the University of Bonn's Institute of Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Animal Hygiene. He contributed to Poland's Animal Protection Act as an expert for the Freedom Union Parliamentary Club and various ministries. He supervised one doctoral dissertation and 65 master's theses.
