Winston Roberts is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Florida State University (FSU), part of the College of Arts and Sciences. He joined FSU as a full professor and has held roles as a Program Officer at the NSF and Program Manager at the Department of Energy's Office of Nuclear Physics. Previously, he served on the faculty at Old Dominion University and conducted postdoctoral research at the Institut des Sciences Nucléaires (Grenoble, France) and Harvard University.
Dr. Roberts earned his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Guelph (1988). His research focuses on hadron properties, employing quark models, heavy quark effective theory, and numerical methods. He has contributed significantly to understanding subatomic particle structure.
He received the NSF National Young Investigator Award in 1994. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with experimental insights in nuclear physics. Though no specific grants or lab affiliations are detailed, his career highlights interdisciplinary engagement with national research institutions.
