Wing Shan Ho is an Assistant Professor of Chinese and Coordinator of the Asian Languages and Cultures Major at Montclair State University's Department of World Languages and Cultures within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She specializes in Chinese film and media, gender studies, and cultural analysis, with a focus on post-1989 China.
Research Interests include:
- Chinese cinema and television criticism
- Negotiation of state control in media
- Gender and family dynamics in popular culture
- Political ideology in Chinese blockbusters
Selected Publications span analyses of Chinese reality TV, affective labor in media, and intersections of politics and gender. Her book Screening Post-1989 China examines representational control in Chinese media.
