Wing Lau is Lecturer in Music Theory at University of Illinois Chicago's School of Theatre and Music. She teaches courses in music theory, ear training, and keyboard skills across undergraduate programs.
Her research examines analytical approaches to rhythm/meter, text-music interactions in vocal works, and pedagogical methods for aural skills development. Current projects investigate metric practices in Brahms' songs and humor in film music.
With a PhD from University of Oregon and MM from Indiana University, Lau integrates performance experience with theoretical analysis. She previously taught at University of Arkansas and maintains active research in music cognition and pedagogy.
