Willy Sher

Willy Sher is an Honorary Associate Professor in the School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle, specializing in Construction Management (Building). He holds a PhD from the University of Newcastle, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Building from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Master of Science from Loughborough University, UK. His career spans over four decades, beginning as a part-time lecturer and transitioning to full-time roles in academia.

Research Expertise: Virtual teamwork, Building Information Modelling (BIM), modular construction, and pedagogy in construction education. He has authored three books, over 120 conference papers, and 30+ journal articles, with research funding exceeding $1M. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building.

Research Interests: Focus on sustainable construction practices, waste management, and educational innovation. His work bridges theory and practice, emphasizing the integration of technology and pedagogy to enhance construction education and industry relevance.
