William Whitham is an Assistant Professor of Humanities at the Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education, University of Florida. His research examines political ideas, movements, and governance in modern Europe and Eurasia, focusing on radicalism, political violence, and authoritarianism. He previously taught at Harvard University, where he won the Stanley Hoffman Prize for Excellence in Teaching.

The work explores how anarchist strategies inadvertently influenced statecraft and authoritarianism, shaping 20th-century political trajectories.
Whitham teaches courses on Political Violence and Power and Civil Discourse and the American Political Order. His research bridges historical analysis with contemporary political challenges, emphasizing the paradoxical legacy of radical movements.
