William White is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of History at Purdue University. He earned his Ph.D. at Northwestern University under Robert Wiebe. His research focuses on United States history from 1780 to 1850, with expertise in political and legal history.

Research interests include American history, legal history, and biographical studies during the early republic period. His recent work examines historical legal systems and prosecutorial practices in the context of the Great Depression. White teaches multiple sections of Cornerstone SCLA 102 - Transformative Texts.
