William Welch is Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of British Columbia. Former department head (2003-2008), Welch has held positions at University of Waterloo, University of Illinois, and UBC's business school. His research spans computer-aided design of experiments, quality improvement, computer experiment analysis with engineering applications, statistical methods for drug discovery, and machine learning.
