William Smith is an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky's Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, since 1996. He also serves as Associate Chair, Director of Undergraduate Studies, and previously as Director of Graduate Studies.
- Education: Ph.D. (1990), M.S. (1986), and B.S. (1980) in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and University of Kentucky, respectively.
His research focuses on Antennas, Electromagnetic Compatibility, and Radio Communications, with a strong emphasis on aerospace applications and engineering education. He has contributed to multidisciplinary projects like the BIG BLUE II Mars aircraft prototype and UAV design initiatives.
