William Retzlaff is a Professor in the Environmental Resources and Policy program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). His research focuses on green infrastructure technologies, including green roofs and living walls, with emphasis on their performance in Midwestern urban environments, sustainable stormwater management, and waste reuse.
Recent publications highlight his work on heavy metal leaching from green roofs, stormwater quality analysis, and nitrogen contamination impacts on Mississippi River ecosystems. He also explores evapotranspiration modeling and student-driven sustainability initiatives.
