William Regli

William Regli is a Professor at the University of Maryland's Clark School of Engineering, holding appointments in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the Institute for Systems Research. He also directs the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS), overseeing over 75 researchers focused on defense and intelligence challenges. Regli's career spans academia, government leadership (including DARPA's Defense Sciences Office), and industry, with over 250 publications and five foundational U.S. patents in 3D CAD search. His research integrates AI, robotics, and computational modeling to address interdisciplinary problems in engineering, materials science, and national security.
