William McCarthy

William McCarthy is a Lecturer of Biostatistics at the Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) within the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University since 2010. He has over four decades of applied experience in mathematics, research methods, and statistics, spanning academia, industry, government, and foundations.

• Specializes in clinical trials (Phase 1–4), observational cohorts, and regulatory compliance for drugs, biologics, and devices.
• Retired U.S. Army Civilian (2018) as Senior Medical Statistician and Chief of the Biostatistics Branch at USAMRMC.
• Current statistical and regulatory consultant for pharmaceutical/biotech firms, including DoD, commercial, and academic clients.
