William Mattox is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Music at Wittenberg University, where he has taught since Fall 2013. A vocal performance specialist, he earned a B.S. in Economics from Vanderbilt University, a B.M. in Vocal Performance at Wittenberg, and an M.M. in Vocal Performance at Texas Christian University.
His operatic career includes roles such as Melchior in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, and Morales in Carmen. He has performed with notable organizations like the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Dayton Opera, and Fort Worth Opera.
Mattox also contributes to the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria, and serves on the Springfield Symphony Orchestra’s board of trustees. His recent recital performances highlight works by Schubert, including Schwanengesang, Die schöne Müllerin, and Winterreise.
