معرفی
William Marsiglia is an Assistant Professor at the Genetics Research Division of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He holds joint appointments in the Academic Joint Departments of Genetics and Pharmacology and Toxicology, and is an Associate Scientist at the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center within the School of Medicine. He earned his PhD in Chemistry from New York University in 2019.
His research focuses on understanding molecular mechanisms of protein kinases, particularly in cancer-related pathways like the RAS-MAPK cascade. He employs techniques such as NMR spectroscopy and live-cell imaging to study drug-target engagement, kinase activation dynamics, and allosteric regulation. Key areas include developing assays for target validation (e.g., NanoBRET), investigating drug resistance mutations in FGFR and MEK kinases, and characterizing protein-protein interactions in signaling complexes. His work also extends to diagnostics, including SARS-CoV-2 immunity assays and ELISA methodologies.
Dr. Marsiglia's articles highlight contributions to understanding kinase inhibitor mechanisms, drug resistance pathways, and the structural basis of signaling proteins. He actively participates in graduate education, serving on multiple dissertation committees and designing biochemistry laboratory modules for undergraduates.
