William Lewis is a Professor of Voice and holds the Frank C. Erwin, Jr. Centennial Professorship in Opera at the University of Texas at Austin. He is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Austrian American Mozart Academy in Salzburg, a prestigious summer training program for opera performance. Previously, he taught at Penn State University and the State University of New York at Binghamton. His teaching focuses on voice and opera, emphasizing technical mastery and interpretive depth.
Education: Studied at the University of Colorado, Texas Christian University, and New York University. His performance career spans over 130 major operatic roles in ten languages, performing at renowned venues including the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala (Milan), and Covent Garden (London).
