William Fletcher is a Professor of Physical Geography at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the School of Environment, Education and Development. His research focuses on abrupt environmental and climatic changes using vegetation records from Quaternary sediment archives, with a particular emphasis on North African and Mediterranean environments. He teaches courses including the Pyrenees Overseas Fieldcourse, Plant Ecology and Global Change, and Palaeoecology in Practice.
