William Erdly is an Associate Professor in the Division of Computing & Software Systems within the School of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics at the University of Washington. He currently serves as Director of the Interactive Media Design (IMD) degree program and was the founding Director of the Computing & Software Systems (CSS) program.

Research Focus: Dr. Erdly's work centers on Human-Computer Interaction and Game Design, developing vision therapy games (GWAPs) for children's near-vision assessment and cognitive training. His tribal community partnership creates semantic web applications for Cultural Learning Objects (CLOs), implementing Digital Rights Management protocols and cloud-based architecture to integrate indigenous knowledge with STEM curricula.
His research bridges Health Informatics, Software Engineering, and Social Computing, leveraging industry leadership experience in technology innovation and entrepreneurship to address real-world challenges in healthcare and education.
