معرفی
William (Memo) Carpenter is an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at The Ohio State University. His research focuses on understanding the interplay between chemical and physical properties of biomolecular nanoparticles, leveraging advanced spectroscopic techniques like anti-Brownian trapping and cryo-electron microscopy. He earned his PhD from the University of Chicago under Prof. Andrei Tokmakoff, followed by postdoctoral work at Stanford with Prof. W.E. Moerner. His lab, established in August 2024, explores nanoparticle design for biomedical and sustainability applications.
Education: B.Sc. (2013, UC Berkeley), Ph.D. (2020, University of Chicago). Research interests include single-particle observation, proton transfer dynamics, and biomolecular assembly principles. Key techniques: 2D IR spectroscopy, anti-Brownian trapping, and cryo-EM.
Publications highlight innovations in label-free nanoparticle detection and redox environment sensing. His work bridges analytical, physical, and biophysical chemistry to advance nanotechnology applications.
