Will White is an Associate Professor in the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences at Oregon State University, with affiliations to the Coastal Oregon Marine Experiment Station and Hatfield Marine Science Center. His research examines population dynamics in marine ecosystems, integrating oceanography, spatial analysis, and conservation management.
Research focuses on fishery responses to climate change, marine protected area effectiveness, and predator-prey interactions. Current projects investigate nonconsumptive predator effects on prey populations and adaptive marine reserve management using state-space models.
Publications advance understanding of larval connectivity, density-dependent population regulation, and transient reserve responses. Methodological innovations include integral projection models for size-structured populations and connectivity-informed conservation planning.
Lab initiatives promote diversity and inclusion through dedicated training, mentorship programs, and community engagement in coastal research.
