Prof. Dr. Wiebke Schulz is affiliated with the SOCIUM Research Center on Inequality and Social Policy at the University of Bremen. She holds a PhD in Sociology from Utrecht University (2013) and has held roles such as Senior Research Fellow (2018–2020), Lecturer at Bielefeld University (2016–2018), and Postdoctoral Researcher in the TwinLife project. Her research focuses on social inequality, educational attainment, occupational careers, and historical demography.
Education: PhD in Sociology (Utrecht University, 2013), M.Sc. Sociology (Utrecht University, 2007), B.A. equivalent in Sociology (University of Bremen, 2004). Professional experience includes visiting scholarships at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2010) and fellowships at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZIF), Bielefeld University (2015–2017).
Her research explores intergenerational mobility, gender dynamics in labor markets, and modernization effects on occupational careers. She has contributed to large-scale studies like TwinLife, analyzing social inequality dynamics across life courses. Her work bridges historical and contemporary sociological inquiries, emphasizing methodological innovation in longitudinal studies.
