Whitney McIntyre Miller is an Associate Professor in the Attallah College of Educational Studies at Chapman University. She is faculty in the Ph.D. in Education (Leadership Studies) program and contributes to undergraduate and master’s leadership programs, including serving as Faculty Coordinator of the Master of Arts in Leadership Development (MLD). Her research and teaching focus on peace leadership, community development, and postconflict societies.

Dr. McIntyre Miller’s research centers on peace leadership, with a focus on postconflict societies, community development, and sustainability. She explores how leadership can foster inclusion, nonviolence, and social justice, particularly in regions recovering from conflict such as Sierra Leone and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Her work integrates qualitative methods and grounded theory, emphasizing transformative change and community empowerment.
Her recent publications span topics including peace leadership competencies, sustainability in leadership education, migrant and refugee women’s leadership, and integral peace leadership frameworks. She frequently collaborates with scholars on interdisciplinary projects related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), peace education, and community-based peacebuilding.
Dr. McIntyre Miller is actively involved in international education, having led study abroad programs and coordinated a doctoral partnership with Shanghai Normal University. She is a member of the International Leadership Association and the Community Development Society, and serves on the Human Relations Advisory Council for the Los Alamitos Unified School District. Her teaching includes courses on Leading from Within, Leading Transformational Change, Qualitative Methods, and Peace and Sustainability Leadership.
