Wesley Transue

Wesley Transue is Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at University of Pittsburgh's Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. His research lab develops molecular chemistry approaches for quantum information science, creating designer molecules that function as qubits. The group combines inorganic synthesis, spectroscopy, magnetic resonance, and computational methods to control electronic and magnetic properties.

Research focuses on molecular qubits for quantum sensing and computing, with emphasis on tuning geometric and electronic structures. Recent publications explore copper enzyme mechanisms, phosphorus chemistry, magnetic properties of metal complexes, and reactive intermediates.

The Transue Lab is currently accepting graduate students for projects involving quantum materials development.
