Werner Varnhorn

Prof. Werner Varnhorn is a retired full professor of applied mathematics at the University of Kassel, where he served as Dean of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (1999–2002). He previously held academic positions at Dresden Technical University, Weimar Bauhaus University, Erlangen University, and Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. His research focuses on mathematical fluid dynamics, partial differential equations, functional analysis, and numerical methods for hydrodynamical systems. He has contributed extensively to the theoretical and computational analysis of Navier-Stokes and Stokes flows, boundary integral equations, and approximation theory.
