Wenjing Yao

Wenjing Yao is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Management Science and Statistics at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Her research focuses on real estate finance, asset pricing models, and forestry economics, with a particular emphasis on specialized REITs, timberland investments, and investor sentiment analysis. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, an M.A. from the University of Central Florida, and a B.A. from Sichuan University.

Her work bridges quantitative methods with practical finance, utilizing statistical tools like SAS and R. Key areas of exploration include financial risk assessment in real estate markets, integration dynamics among private equity real estate, timberland, and farmland markets, and the application of theoretical models such as Arbitrage Pricing Theory and Capital Asset Pricing Model in forestry-related asset valuation.

Publications span journals such as Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management, Canadian Journal of Forest Research, and Forest Science, demonstrating her expertise in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of finance, forestry, and economics.
