Wenche Fjeld

Wenche Fjeld serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Inland Norway's Faculty of Teacher Education and Pedagogy, Department of Educational Studies in Teacher Education. She maintains dual appointments at Oslo Metropolitan University (Department of Behavioural Science) and Innlandet University.

Her research focuses on improving pre-service teachers' competence in Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) to enhance school-based CSE delivery. Key areas include disability rights, sexual abuse prevention for developmentally disabled individuals, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. She developed assessment tools SexKunn and KroppKunn, and contributed to the SUMO project precursor to the TryggEst model.

Fjeld's scientific contributions include co-authoring four major publications: Developmental Disabilities and Habilitation (2009), Developmentally Disabled and Sexual Abuse (2013), Evidence-Based Environmental Therapeutic Work (2022), and The Little Love Book (2023). Her work bridges academic research with practical applications in disability services and education.

She previously served as:

• Senior advisor at Statens Barnehus Hamar (2016-2018)
• Project manager at Utviklingssenter for sykehjem og hjemmetjenester Hedmark (2018-2019)
• Employed in habilitation services at Innlandet Hospital HF (1991-2015)

Fjeld holds a Master's in Sexology from Malmö University and additional qualifications in special education, primary school pedagogy, and behavioral analysis. She served on the board of LMSO (National Association Against Sexual Abuse) from 2016-2020 and has lectured at the Oslo Police Academy.
