Wellington Rody Jr.

Dr. Wellington Rody Jr. is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Stony Brook University. He holds a DDS from the Federal University of Espirito Santo (Brazil), an MS in Oral Biology from the University of Washington, and advanced training in Orthodontics from the University of Florida. His research focuses on translational science, particularly non-invasive biomarkers for dental root resorption and alveolar bone loss, as well as 3D printing optimization for orthodontic applications.

Dr. Rody has received awards from the American Association of Orthodontists for excellence in education and translational research. His work bridges clinical practice and technology, with recent studies evaluating 3D-printing parameters for dental models and thermoformed appliances. He has held leadership roles at Stony Brook and previously at the University of Florida and University of Manitoba.
