Weiwei Mo

Weiwei Mo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New Hampshire (UNH), with a secondary appointment as a Faculty Fellow at the Carsey School of Public Policy. He holds a BS from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2008), MS (2011), and PhD (2012) from the University of South Florida. Before joining UNH, he was a post-doctoral associate at Yale University.

His research focuses on enhancing infrastructure sustainability and resiliency through systems approaches, particularly in water-energy nexus, decentralized infrastructure systems, and crowdsourced monitoring for water safety. He leads NSF-funded projects on integrated planning of water systems and spatial optimization of infrastructure. Mo has secured over $7.5 million in external grants, including a prestigious NSF CAREER Award (2021).

Research interests include infrastructure sustainability, water systems optimization, and sustainable development. He has advised numerous graduate and undergraduate students, contributing to impactful research in environmental engineering. Notable awards include the Platinum Sustainability Award (2022), Roland H. O’Neal Professorship (2019-2022), and multiple best paper/poster recognitions.

Mo teaches courses on sustainable engineering, environmental life cycle assessment, and systems analysis. He co-leads the Mo Research Group and collaborates with stakeholders to address complex environmental challenges through participatory modeling and interdisciplinary frameworks.
