Weiming Hu

Dr. Weiming Hu is an Assistant Professor of Geography in the School of Integrated Sciences at James Madison University. His research focuses on machine learning applications in environmental and earth sciences, particularly in renewable energy forecasting, extreme weather prediction, and spatiotemporal data analytics. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from Penn State University and has experience as a Machine Learning Scientist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. His work emphasizes uncertainty quantification using hybrid dynamical-machine learning models.
