معرفی
Dr. Wei Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer & Cyber Sciences at Augusta University's School of Computer and Cyber Sciences. His research integrates machine learning with computational neuroscience to analyze functional connectivity in the human brain using fMRI, with applications to neurodegenerative diseases.
Education
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, University of Georgia, 2019
- M.Eng. in Engineering, Tongji University, 2013
- B.E. in Automation Engineering Technology, Tongji University, 2009
Research Focus
Dr. Zhang's work centers on developing novel machine learning methodologies for neuroscientific discovery. Primary domains include unsupervised learning, matrix decomposition techniques, and optimization algorithms applied to brain connectivity mapping. His lab focuses on creating computational tools for identifying hierarchical functional networks in fMRI data and translating these to clinical neuroscience applications.
Recent publications demonstrate consistent emphasis on: (1) Advanced optimization frameworks for machine learning, (2) Decomposition methods for neuroimaging pattern extraction, and (3) Reconstruction algorithms for functional brain connectivity analysis. This cohesive research trajectory bridges theoretical machine learning with practical biomedical challenges.
