Dr. Wei Zhang is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on environmental and nutritional factors influencing maternal and child health outcomes, particularly gestational diabetes mellitus, preeclampsia, and birth weight. He has conducted studies in China examining the effects of metal exposure, dietary patterns, and air pollution on pregnancy complications. His work also extends to oncology, analyzing metabolic pathways in colon cancer and surgical outcomes for gastrointestinal cancers.
Dr. Zhang holds a PhD from Peking Union Medical College and National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Research Center (2023), an MS from Fudan University (2020), and an MBBS from Shandong University (2017).
His research portfolio includes over 30 peer-reviewed articles published between 2014–2024, addressing topics such as thyroid cancer risk factors, lung cancer incidence trends, and the efficacy of neonatal hepatitis B vaccination programs. His interdisciplinary approach integrates epidemiology, environmental science, and clinical medicine to address public health challenges.
