Wei Liu

Dr. Wei Liu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences and the Department of Genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His research focuses on elucidating the molecular and cellular mechanisms of retinal differentiation and inherited degeneration using engineered mice and human pluripotent stem cells. His work has led to the development of cone-rich human retinal organoids, recognized by the NEI Prize for progress in lab-made retinas.
