Warren C. Brown is a Professor of History at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), affiliated with the Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences. He holds a B.S. from Tufts University (1985), M.A. from the University of Cincinnati (1993), and Ph.D. from UCLA (1997). His academic career at Caltech spans from Assistant Professor (1997–2003) to Professor (2010–present).
His research focuses on the social and political history of medieval Europe, particularly the role of written documents beyond clerical contexts. Key interests include documentary culture, conflict resolution, and the history of violence.
