Wanja Paulsen is a Doctoral Research Fellow in Nuclear and Energy Physics at the University of Oslo, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Her research focuses on experimental nuclear physics, including gamma-ray spectroscopy, nuclear structure studies, and reaction dynamics. She has contributed to projects involving measurements of gamma-decay branching ratios, photoneutron cross sections, and angular momentum generation in fission processes.
Her work often involves collaborations on neutron-rich isotopes and the study of phenomena like the Hoyle state, Pygmy dipole resonance, and nuclear fission dynamics. Teaching roles include coordinating 'Writing Science' and assisting in courses like FYS1120 and FYS4505. Her publications span topics from carbon isotopes to tin and germanium isotope behavior, reflecting her expertise in fundamental nuclear processes.
Paulsen’s research emphasizes experimental techniques in nuclear physics, with a focus on advancing understanding of nuclear reactions and their implications for astrophysical scenarios such as stellar nucleosynthesis.
