Professor Wang Xi is a faculty member at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, affiliated with the College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs within the Department of History, Philosophy, Political Science, and Religious Studies. His academic work focuses on 19th-century U.S. political history, African American history, and constitutional development during the Civil War and Reconstruction eras.

His research spans topics such as slavery, citizenship, suffrage, and American state- and nation-building, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches between law and history. He has contributed to major academic journals including Civil War History, Cardozo Law Review, and The Chinese Journal of American Studies.
Wang Xi is recognized for his editorial leadership as founding chief-editor of The Chinese Historical Review (2004–14) and his influential translations of seminal American history texts into Chinese. He has mentored numerous PhD and MA students at Peking University while maintaining his research and teaching roles at IUP.
