Dr. Wanda M. Popescu is a Professor of Anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine and serves as Director of the Thoracic and Vascular Anesthesia Section in the Department of Anesthesiology at Yale New Haven Hospital. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades since completing her medical training, she has established herself as a leading expert in specialized anesthesia care for complex thoracic and vascular procedures.
Dr. Popescu received her medical degree from Carol Davila Medical School, University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania in 1996. She completed her anesthesiology residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in 2002 followed by dual fellowships in vascular and cardio-thoracic anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine between 2002 and 2004. She has remained on faculty at Yale since completing her training, rising to her current professorship and leadership position.
