Walter Vetter

Prof. Walter Vetter is an Honorary Professor at the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences and holds the chair of Food Chemistry at the University of Hohenheim (Germany) since 2002. He also serves as Director of the Institute of Food Chemistry at his university since 2017.

• 1990: Diploma in Chemistry, University of Stuttgart
• 1993: PhD, University of Hohenheim
• 1998: Habilitation in Food Chemistry

His research focuses on food chemistry, environmental chemistry, and analytical chemistry, with expertise in:

• Halogenated natural products and POPs
• Lipid analysis
• Countercurrent chromatography
• Enantiomer separation
• Stable isotope analysis

He received grants from the Royal Norwegian Research Council (1991-1992) and collaborates with UQ researchers Caroline Gaus and Jochen Mueller since 2000.
