Walter Fuchs

Dr. Walter Fuchs serves as Laboratory Head at the Institute of Molecular Virology and Cell Biology (IMVZ), part of the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut in Greifswald, Germany. Holding a doctoral degree in natural sciences (Dr. rer. nat.), he operates from the institute's campus on Riems Island.

His research spans Virology, Molecular Virology, and Cell Biology, with specialized focus on Asfarviruses (including African Swine Fever virus) and Animal Herpesviruses.
