Dr. Guerchais specializes in organometallic complexes, particularly iridium and platinum-based systems with applications in luminescence and photochromic materials. Her work explores the relationship between molecular structure and optical properties, with emphasis on C-H bond activation using palladium catalysts. She has made significant contributions to understanding how metal coordination affects nonlinear optical behavior and luminescent properties of organometallic chromophores. Her research has important implications for developing new materials for light-emitting devices, luminescent sensors, and bio-imaging applications.

Research Leadership and Collaborations
Dr. Guerchais has led multiple international research initiatives including the LEA Rennes-Durham program (2011-2014, 2015-2018) on Molecular Materials and Catalysis, and served as coordinator for the PICS Milan project (2017-2018) focused on nonlinear optical properties of cyclometallated Pt(II) complexes. She has maintained long-standing collaborations with researchers from Durham University (UK), University of Milan, University of Nantes, and institutions in Chile. Her work has been supported by significant research contracts including the ANR BLANC « COMET » project (2009-2012) where she served as principal investigator.
