Volodymyr Minin is a Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), within the Donald Bren School of Information & Computer Sciences. His work focuses on statistical inference for stochastic processes in biological systems, with applications to infectious disease epidemiology, immunology, and systems biology. He develops methods for real-time modeling and forecasting of infectious disease spread, integrates genomic data to study transmission dynamics (e.g., tuberculosis in Botswana), and analyzes hematopoiesis processes to understand blood cell differentiation.
His research interests include evolutionary processes in pathogens, immune system dynamics, and the application of statistical methods to genomic epidemiology. He has contributed to methodologies for phylodynamic analyses, stochastic epidemic modeling, and Bayesian phylogenetic inference.
