Volker Pfirrmann

Volker Pfirrmann is a Consultant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, active since 2020. He has served as a judge at the Federal Finance Court (Bundesfinanzhof) since 2011, initially in the III. Senat and since 2014 in the I. Senat, specializing in international tax law and corporate tax law. Prior to this, he worked as a judge at the Financial Court of Baden-Württemberg (2005-2011) and as a scientific assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court (2002-2005). He earned his Dr. jur. in 2001 with a dissertation on tax law related to partnerships.

Pfirrmann contributes to tax law literature as an author in multiple commentaries (e.g., Blümich, Herrmann/Heuer/Raupach, Kirchhof) and as co-editor of the Beck'schen Onlinekommentars zur Abgabenordnung. His expertise spans earnings tax law, international tax law, and corporate restructuring taxation.
