Volker Deckert

Professor Volker Deckert serves as Head of the Research Department Nanoscopy at the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (Leibniz-IPHT) in Jena, Germany. His work focuses on advancing nanoscale analytical techniques, particularly in the field of Raman spectroscopy and its various enhanced forms.

Deckert's research interests center around nanoscale molecular characterization, with particular expertise in Tip-Enhanced Raman Scattering (TERS), Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), plasmonics, and nanomechanical analysis.
