Professor Stavros Vlizos is affiliated with the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology at Ionian University. He holds a Dr.Phil from Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich and has extensive experience in archaeology and museum management. His roles include Director of the Amykles Research Project and Scientific Director of EU-funded initiatives focused on cultural heritage digitization.

Research interests center on cultural heritage preservation, archaeological goods management, and ancient Greek/Roman material culture. He leads projects integrating new technologies for heritage promotion, including roles with the Athens Archaeological Society and German Archaeological Institute.
Initiated the Ionian University Museum Collections and Ionian Islands Museum Network. Served on the Hellenic Open University's Advisory Academic Staff (2003–2017). Currently teaches 'Introduction to Museology' and 'Archaeology and Exploitation of Cultural Assets.'
