Vladimir Zimakov is an Associate Professor of Art and Design and Director of the Wedeman Art Gallery at Lasell University. A Boston-based illustrator and book artist, he specializes in linocut, silkscreen, letterpress, and digital media. His professional background includes collaborations with major publishing houses like Penguin, Random House, and Oxford University Press.

His research focuses on blending traditional printmaking with modern communication design, emphasizing practical skills in art direction, networking, and project management. He frequently attends AIGA design events to stay current with industry trends.
Zimakov’s work has been exhibited internationally, including solo and group shows in the U.S., Europe, and Russia. His recent project Haddocks’ Eyes (2017–2021) is a limited edition book based on Lewis Carroll’s poem, combining linocut and polymer type printing.
