Vladimir Volpert is a Professor of Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics at Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering. His research focuses on nonlinear dynamics, combustion, reaction-diffusion systems, and mathematical biology. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from the USSR Academy of Sciences and M.S./B.S. degrees in Mathematics from Moscow State University.
