Vladimir Baranovsky is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Irvine. His research specializes in algebra, number theory, and algebraic geometry, with particular interests in representation theory, moduli spaces, and noncommutative geometry. He has supervised several graduate students including Josh Whitney, Jeremy Pecharich, Jingyu Wang, and Robert Campbell.
His publication record demonstrates sustained contributions across algebraic geometry, representation theory, and mathematical physics. Recent work has focused on deformation theory, derived categories, and geometric structures in algebraic geometry. He maintains an active research program with ongoing investigations into Chow varieties, permutahedra, and Uhlenbeck-Chow compactifications.
