Vlad Tasic

Vlad Tasic is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Brunswick, part of the Faculty of Science. His office is located in Tilley Hall on the Fredericton campus.

Research Focus: Tasic's interdisciplinary work examines connections between mathematics and contemporary philosophy, particularly exploring the foundational role of mathematics in philosophical systems. His investigations include Alain Badiou's proposition that mathematics constitutes a fundamental condition of philosophy alongside politics, art, and love.

Teaching: His instructional portfolio includes Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, History of Mathematics, Mathematical Logic, and introductory mathematics for business students. His pedagogical approach connects mathematical concepts with their philosophical and historical contexts.
